About the Role Leading Ocado Group’s International Solutions Finance Team, the Senior Finance Manager drives accounting, financial reporting, and governance across all non-UK commercial entities. This role holds ultimate accountability for the integrity of local statutory financial statements, general ledger accuracy, and board reporting, while serving as the primary finance representative across international entity boards. Alongside directing and developing a team of Senior Financial Accountants, the SFM owns the relationships with external auditors and local service providers—setting annual timetables and serving as the primary escalation point for complex issues. Furthermore, the role partners closely with Treasury and Tax on funding, transfer pricing, and strategic business cases to ensure seamless, compliant international growth. Core duties: - Owning the year-end audit and SFS (statutory financial statements) delivery and timetable across all non-UK international Solutions entities, and holding external accounting providers and auditors to it; - Leading conversations with external accountants and local auditors on planning, technical issues and sign-off, escalating and resolving as needed; - Overseeing the secondary local ledgers maintained by external accounting providers, ensuring they reconcile to Oracle Fusion and Group policy; - Reviewing and approving quarterly board packs, presenting local results, key highlights and commentary to the boards of the international Solutions entities; - Supporting the corporate secretary on any accounting compliance case; - Reviewing and challenging entity P&L and Balance Sheet packs prepared by the team, including the local GAAP to IFRS bridge; - Working closely with Treasury and Tax on business cases, funding requirements and making sure local compliance of stats is kept on track - Managing the relationship between external accounting providers, local auditors and wider Ocado Finance (Tax, Treasury, Commercial Finance and Commercial Accounting); - Leading the set-up of finance processes and controls for any new international territories; - Ensuring prior and current year audit adjustments are correctly processed and reconciled; - Reviewing monthly Interco reconciliations across the international entity portfolio and ensuring differences are resolved; - Reviewing the financial control environment of each entity and driving improvements where gaps are identified; - Leading, coaching and developing the Senior Finance Accountant team, including performance management and career development; - Raising risks and issues to senior stakeholders with clear recommendations, and driving process standardisation and improvement across the international portfolio. - Reviewing statutory survey & national statistic submissions for international entities About you - Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with post-qualification experience in a similar international/group accounting role; - Proven experience managing external auditors and external accounting/outsourced providers across multiple jurisdictions; - Experience with Oracle Fusion or similar ERP systems; - Strong knowledge of accounting, tax and financial reporting standards across multiple jurisdictions; - Experience presenting to senior stakeholders and/or boards of directors - Ability to set direction, prioritise and manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines across time zones; - Strong judgement to identify, escalate and resolve issues before they become risks; - Excellent presentation and communication skills, including with senior/board-level audiences; - Ability to build trusted relationships across Finance and with external partners; - Coaching mindset to develop the team's technical and soft skills; - Adaptability and a positive, solutions-oriented mindset.
