Senior Financial Analyst- FP&A (India) Smartsheet is growing its outstanding Finance team to help achieve our operational and financial goals while embodying our values. The Finance team connects the dots between Smartsheet's operational and business strategies to shape financial performance. We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team in India. In this role, you will provide critical financial support to the India business unit, driving core FP&A processes, variance analysis, and operational reporting. You will act as a key finance partner to local leadership, helping to translate regional performance into actionable financial insights. This role sits within a matrixed reporting structure, reporting directly to the Senior Manager of FP&A based in our Bellevue, WA office, with a dotted-line relationship to the in-region finance team. This role will report to our Senior Manager of FP&A located in our Bellevue, WA office. You Will: - Financial Planning & Forecasting: Actively participate in the annual planning, quarterly forecasting, and monthly rolling forecast cycles for the India business unit - Performance/Metrics Reporting: Own monthly and quarterly management reporting, delivering clear visibility into regional expenses, headcount tracking, and operational metrics. May help support in-region Engineering teams and related cloud spend performance. - Variance Analysis: Conduct deep-dive monthly variance analysis (Actuals vs. Budget/Forecast) to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost optimization - Business Partnership: Partner with local leadership and cross-functional teams to support budget management, procurement approvals, and regional operational decisions - Month-End Support: Collaborating with corporate accounting on accurate month-end close while maintaining actuals in the centralized budget sheet and supporting central procurement and budget reviews per standardized global processes. - Process Automation: Leverage FP&A platforms and BI tools to automate manual reporting, driving efficiency and scalability within regional finance operations - Ad-Hoc Analysis: Provide data-driven insights and financial modeling for special projects to support the growth of the India business unit - Other duties as assigned You Have: - 5+ years of progressive experience in corporate finance, FP&A, or financial analysis roles (experience in the technology/SaaS sector is a plus) - Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or economics preferred - Excellent verbal & written communication skills with the ability to facilitate discussions with leaders - Analytical mindset and proficiency in building complex financial models - Direct experience with cloud-native cost management tools (e.g., CloudHealth, Apptio Cloudability, or AWS Cost Explorer) is a plus - Ability to thrive is a dynamic, fast paced matrixed reporting environment - Comfortable operating with limited oversight and ambiguity , collaborating across different time zones - Detail-oriented and results-driven, with a proven track record of managing competing priorities and seeing projects through to completion - A strong curiosity and passion for using data and business acumen to answer questions and solve problems Get to Know Us: At Smartsheet, your ideas are heard, your potential is supported, and your contributions have real impact.
