About the role

At Render, we’re building the modern cloud platform for developers creating AI-native, full-stack, multi-service applications. Our mission is to eliminate the tradeoff between the power of hyperscalers and the simplicity of developer-friendly platforms—so teams can ship fast, scale reliably, and focus on their product, not infrastructure. Unlike complex hyperscalers or ephemeral edge/serverless solutions, Render offers a developer-first experience with persistent compute, dynamic autoscaling, built-in orchestration, and observability, allowing teams to launch, scale, and manage real-world applications without writing infrastructure code or managing servers. Whether you're building LLM-powered applications, scalable SaaS products, or async processing pipelines, Render empowers teams to move fast and scale confidently from MVP to millions of users. Our platform is trusted by over 6 million developers worldwide and continues to grow rapidly. In February 2026, we raised an additional $100M in Series C financing, bringing our total funding to $257M, to accelerate our vision of making cloud infrastructure both powerful and intuitive—designed for the speed of modern AI development. We’re a diverse and talented team that values craft, velocity, and user experience. If you’re excited to help shape the future of the intelligent cloud and empower developers everywhere, we’d love to hear from you. APPLYING TO RENDER We're seeking candidates who possess high integrity, humility, and an insatiable drive to learn. Through reasoned discussions and continuous feedback, we strive to improve both individually and collectively. We foster an environment of mutual trust and respect, empowering effective debate to achieve the best outcomes for our customers and team. We especially encourage members of underrepresented groups in the tech community to apply and understand that not all successful candidates will meet each requirement listed. Our interview process is unique to each role, and we value the candidate experience just as much as our customer experience. We hope your conversations with us reflect a thoughtful process that is illuminative, enjoyable, and respectful of your time. ABOUT THE ROLE You'll own the path from commit to running production software on Render: the build system, the deploy experience, and the primitives that make delivery composable, including reusable build artifacts, multi-service deployment, deployment pipelines, and infrastructure as code. In practice, you own the part of our customers' SDLC that Render is responsible for, and the developer productivity outcomes that come with it. This is a high-leverage area. The simplicity of the build and deploy experience is one of the main reasons developers choose Render, and it's also where our fastest-growing customers feel the most pain as they scale. Slow builds, redundant rebuilds, and hard-to-diagnose failures show up directly in developer engagement and in retention. The loop is also changing shape: more of the code arriving on Render isn't written by a human, which changes what a deploy is, who is waiting on it, and what has to be true before it goes out. You'll work with a dedicated engineering team and partner closely with infrastructure, design, customer success, and go-to-market. Your customers span the full spectrum: solo developers deploying their first service, fast-growing startups shipping daily, and platform teams running hundreds of services across growing engineering orgs. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Shape build and deploy experiences that feel simple from hundred-line prototypes to architectures with hundreds of services, and work seamlessly whether the thing shipping code is a person or an AI agent. - Own the build and deploy system end to end. Set the roadmap and own the outcomes: build and deploy speed, deploy success rate, and time to diagnose a failure. - Define and ship foundational primitives such as reusable build artifacts and application-level deployment, rather than accumulating one-off features. - Drive build and deploy performance work: caching, incremental builds, monorepo workflows, and build compute options for workloads that need more capacity. - Make failures fast to diagnose: failure classification, surfacing root cause at the point of failure rather than buried in logs, and the metrics that tell us whether debuggability is improving. - Talk to customers constantly, translate what you hear into patterns across the customer base, and decide what to build now, later, or not at all. - Work with engineering to sequence foundational refactors against urgent customer needs, and defend those tradeoffs to stakeholders. - Partner with customer success and sales on at-risk accounts: decide what we commit to, what gets a workaround, and how we communicate both. WHO YOU ARE - You have 6+ years of product management experience, with time spent on developer tools, infrastructure, or platform products. - You have significant depth in the delivery domain: CI/CD, build systems and caching, containers and registries, deploy strategies (canary, blue-green, rollbacks, health checks, zero-downtime deploys), and infrastructure as code. You can hold your own in an architecture conversation and tell a load-bearing technical constraint from a preference. - You set direction that holds up over multiple quarters, drive alignment across engineering, design, and go-to-market without owning those teams, and raise the bar for how product work gets done around you. - You think in primitives and platforms. When a customer asks for a one-off fix, you look for the reusable capability underneath it. - You're comfortable with ambiguity and limited data. You form opinions from customer conversations, analytics, and technical constraints, and you can defend a prioritization under capacity limits. - You communicate clearly with everyone from a platform engineer evaluating your build system to a CTO asking about competitor benchmarks, and you know how to say no while preserving trust. - You obsess over developer experience and hold a high bar for speed, reliability, and legibility in the tools you ship. NICE TO HAVE - Experience with product-led growth motions or products serving both self-serve users and larger accounts. - Hands-on experience as a software engineer. - Experience taking a platform primitive from design partner beta through general availability. WHY RENDER You'll own one of the most consequential surfaces of a platform that millions of developers rely on, with a direct line from your decisions to whether fast-growing companies can scale. You'll work on hard problems for a customer base that will tell you exactly what's wrong with what you shipped. The core delivery primitives here are still being defined, and the ones you land will be what teams build on for years. If this role excites you but you don’t meet every single requirement, we’d still love to hear from you—your unique experience might be just what we need. BENEFITS - 4 weeks of paid vacation. - 14 weeks of fully paid parental leave for all parents to bond with a newly born, adopted, or fostered child. We will also work with you to create a supportive plan of return. - Long-term disability, life insurance, and 401K plans. - 100% employer-paid medical coverage and 99% employer-paid dental and vision coverage for you and a dependent. FSAs and HSAs are available as well. - Monthly lifestyle stipend for wellness, mental health and therapy, hobbies, etc. - Monthly cell phone and internet subsidy. - Commuter benefits for Renders in the Bay Area, and home office stipends for remote Renders. - Continuous learning benefits & related support.
